Thoughts
Really liked the central theme of trees being the shapers of lives, with their own ecosystem and means of communication. However, the writing was so dense, and, honestly, boring at times that I kept forgetting who’s who. All nine characters are rather one-dimensional, and even stereotyped at times, so halfway through the book, I couldn’t tell which backstory belonged to which person any longer.
Oh, I don’t know. Perhaps I just don’t know how to read anymore? But it’s not often that after finishing 500 pages, I have no recollection of the book at all.
